Super Bowl XLV: Super Bowl Printables

As you all know I'm obsessed with Katie from Green Apple Paperie and she out did herself again with these adorable Super Bowl Printables.  What cute ideas...you can print the water bottle labels and tented food cards and if you need anything else make sure and let Katie know.  The flags on the rice krispie treats are perfect!  I can't wait to make some fun treats for Sunday.

Tutorial: How To Tie A Bow

Okay, I watched several tutorials on "how to tie a bow" and this was my favorite.  Its simple and easy -  but I will say I don't like how she only left a little of the bow at the ends.  I would always leave more ribbon for a classier, richer look.  Happy Wrapping!

Personalized Christmas Tags

As you all know by now that I love anything personalized.  I found the blog Sweet Paul via How Sweet It Is and I came across these gift tags and just adore the idea.   I think you could add cuter ribbon...maybe some striped ribbon and be good to go.  Happy Wrapping!!

You will need:
Color copies of pictures
Tag puncher
Hole puncher
String
Use a tag puncher and punch out tags of your pictures.
If you don't have a tag puncher you can just cut the tags out by hand.
Punch out holes using a hole puncher and fasten a string to the photo.

Chalkboard Wall

I love the look of a chalkboard wall, how cute for a children's playroom, bedroom or bathroom...where they can play games, you can write cute notes, reminders...the list is endless.  Growing up one of my best friends parents let us write on one of their walls in the bonus room and it was so much fun to look back over the years and see all the silly things we would write.  Of course a big one was who we were crushing on! You can purchase chalkboard paint at Home Depot and here is an easy and fun How To.  Enjoy!

Wine Personalized

This idea is fantastic!!  This is perfect for a smaller wedding, dinner party or a shower.  Replace a place card with a wine glass and then your guests can take it home as a party favor.  I found these over on Every Last Detail and thought it was a darling idea.  How to:  find inexpensive wine glasses, put on some chalkboard paint and add your guests names!   Happy Friday!

DIY: Custom Roller Shades

Most people leave dressing up their windows with window treatments for the very last project because they are just so expensive.  I found a fun solution. You can make these classy monogram shades for under $50.  Add a graphic stenciled design and you have a custom window treatment that’s low on cost and high on style.  I found this fun project on Chapman Interior & Southern Living.  Enjoy!

Shade: 37¼" x 66" light-filtering vinyl shade in white by Levolor (levolor.com), available through Lowe’s; lowes.com.
Brackets: Inside-Mount Shade Brackets, also by Levolor, also available through Lowe’s.
Stencils:  Sunny's Paint Stencils you can purchase here.

Red, White, and Blue we love you!

Ohhh, bring on the red, white and blue!! I just love the 4th of July...it's hands down my favorite holiday.  I always dream that one day I would have a home in The Hampton's or I guess the San Juan Islands would do ;) where I could throw the most elaborate Patriotic Party filled with a crab feast, homemade ice cream with a topping bar, over the top party favors, paddle balls, corn on the cob, sidewalk chalk, old fashioned coke, cracker jacks, peanuts, root beer floats, white sheet cake with strawberries and berries in the shape of a flag, U.S. History trivia game filled with questions about our Founding Fathers, a water balloon toss & relay race, a private firework show, a mini parade filled with radio flyer wagons, streamers & sparklers.  Okay my list could go on and on.   I'm very patriotic and can't wait to sport my 4th of July dress.  Because of my clear love for this holiday, I'll be posting a 4th of July blog once a week getting us ready for our celebrations.  Here are a few fun DIY ideas I found on Martha Stewart.  Happy Planning!!

Berry Basket Favors

Love this!  Send your wedding guests, shower guests, or even just your friends who come over for afternoon tea, home with fresh strawberries and scones to enjoy. Wrap scones in cellophane, and line a wooden berry basket with parchment paper. Tie on a note (I would use red gingham ribbon...how cute!) stamped with a strawberry design.  Happy Picnicking!

DIY: Who Doesn't Love Tulips

I thought this was a darling idea...if you want to send your friends home with a little something – this is perfect!  First, prepare individual bunches of tulips (wrapped in kraft paper with a sticker saying “thanks for coming!”) and present them in a big bowl at your front door for people to take as they leave. You can purchase cute labels from one of my favorite websites, My Own Labels .  Happy Spring!
